Under the project INNOREG (co-financed by Interreg IVA program) the procurement procedure to find a manufacturer/supplier one of the most advanced FMS-system’s (flexible manufacturing system) in the world are successfully completed – the public contract signed on 14th of November by Association of Mechatronics (MECA) and Fastems Oy Ab. FMS-system costs ab. 2 million euros and will create the conditions for high-tech enterprises to create prototypes and low range productions.
Friday, on 25th of November took place a ceremony event in Tehnopol to mark the signing of the contract and future co-operation. The event included presentations by representatives of MECA (Mr.Jüri Riives), Fastems Oy Ab (Mr.Heikki Hallila) and Tallinn City Enterprise Board (Mr.Mart Repnau), the representatives of Tallinn University of Technology, Ministry of Economic Affairs & Communications, and the representatives of entrepreneurs were also attended. Participants visited also the new building site of Tehnopol’s Mechatronics Centre which is combines office and laboratory space for world-class aerospace, plane- and other high-tech production lines and prototyping and were the FMS-system will be located (the cornerstone of Mechatronics was put on Oct 21th).
On 21th of October in Tallinn the cornerstone was put for a Tehnopol's Mechatronics Centre. The construction cost of the building is estimated to be 7 million EUR. Building of Mechatronics combines office and laboratory space for world-class aerospace, plane- and other high-tech production lines and prototyping.
Mechatronics laboratory equipment costs 2 million EUR and will create the conditions for research institutions and high-tech enterprises to create prototypes and low range production. About 50% space of the ovarall 9000 square meters in the Center of Mechatronics is already booked. In addition to the laboratories, there are also office spaces, for cooperating companies in the mechatronics field.
